- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- Victoria Day (1st Monday after May 20) – The traditional day that marks the beginning of ‘cottage season’, when it’s warm enough to enjoy the first of many summer weekends at the beach.

- Natal Day (1st Monday in August) – Large fireworks in Halifax.
- Labour Day (1st Monday in September) – The last long-weekend of summer.
- Thanksgiving Day (2nd Monday in October) – Transport will be packed as people travel to be with family for traditional dinners together.
